Ways to remove the gum in vegetable oil refinery plant
The purpose of Degumming in vegetable Oil refinery plant is to remove Gums. All oils have hydratable and non-hydratable gums. And generally there are two ways to remove the gum in vegetable oil refinery plant.
Degumming in vegetable oil refinery plant
a. Water Degumming in vegetable oil refinery plant : Hydratable gums are removed by treating oils with water and separating the gums. The gums can be dried to produce lecithin.
b. Acid Degumming in vegetable oil refinery plant : Non-Hydratable gums are removed by treating oils with acids and separating the gums.
